In academia, convocations are assemblies or meetings of the members of a college or university. Often held at the beginning of an academic year, convocations typically are formal ceremonies highlighted by an address or speeches by high-ranking officials and/or extramural guests.

UH College of Pharmacy adopted the convocation concept in spring 2011. Although many instiutions host a single annual convocation, the college has established a convocation model as a series of events throughout the academic year.

Convocation topics cover a diverse range of topics and issues, but each is intended to promote the professional development and scholastic enrichment of the student body.

NOTE FOR STUDENTS: Below is the schedule of Co-curricular and other required sessions for the current semester. Attendance for the sessions is mandatory unless otherwise noted. You should be in your seat at least 5 minutes before the session's start time so that we may begin and end on time. Students are expected to be present in the moment and refrain from other tasks which will distract you from the session. Though electronic devices—such as your laptop or phone—may be required to participate in some session activities, these devices, along with class materials, should be put away unless directed to use them by a presenter or moderator. Students are encouraged to have a pen and paper available to make notes from the presentation. At the conclusion of the event, you will complete a SnapShot Reflection and will need your Cougarnet credentials to access the MS Form.

P3 students are required to complete required sessions in TAO Connect for the P3 class along with the Mindfulness Exercise reflection. Instructions, deadlines, and links can be found on Canvas in the PHAR 1398 – RxSources course.
